Many say that Omnis Lacrima is the most difficult piece in FFXV, but I think Veiled in Black should take that place. Pretty much all the pieces I’ve recorded to date, when I sightread the music for the first time, I can usually get through the whole thing, however slow. But this one simply wasn’t playable in the beginning. Most pieces have a fairly linear learning curve. This one, I was stuck for a whole week with very little progress. But once you get it, suddenly the progress picks up very quickly. This took me nearly 2 weeks, compared to 1.5 weeks for Omnis Lacrima.
FFXV Piano Collections undoubtedly is the most passionate and powerful compared to all others that came before it. There is zero filler piece in this album; every one is a favorite. Although the pieces are not easy to perfect, at least they are easier to learn than FFXIII since the flow of music just makes sense. Since I’m recording all the FF music in bulk, I typically just spend the equivalent of a few days on each piece from learning to recording. So you’ll have to forgive me on the minor mistakes. In most cases, the videos you see are the first time I got through the piece with acceptable number of mistakes that I can live with.
