Everyday World piano arr. Animenz ~ Oregairu

Everyday World, from Oregairu, music by Katsuhiko Kurosu, piano arranged by , played by Richard Yang on Yamaha N1X with Garritan CFX VST.

This appears to be one of Animenz’s less popular arrangements. The melody is beautiful, but it’s surprisingly not an easy piece. The 32nd run was not something I could just sight read. It took sometime for the muscle memory to kick in. So for those learning the piece, give it time. Trying to tough it out in a short time may not work so well, this piece needs time to settle. The other difficult part is on how to slow down! For those who think playing the 32nd run fast is impressive, you would be surprised it’s actually more difficult when played slower. My first few takes were at about 5:10…5:20. Took me a while to arrive at this 5:40 take.

As with all of my performances, I have my own interpretation, so the tempo, dynamics, etc may feel quite different from the original recording. Simply put, I play the way I like it.
