Tamashii no Refrain, from Neon Genesis Evangelion, music by Toshiyuki Oomori, piano arranged by Animenz, played by Richard Yang on Yamaha N1X with Garritan CFX VST.
I came across this piece randomly and totally loved it. This is even before I realized this is from Neon Genesis Evangelion, the same anime where A Cruel Angel’s Thesis is from. The sad beginning immediately captured my attention. Then I was soon surprised by the fast-paced section that follows. It’s rhythmic, it’s catchy, and it’s not too difficult. The music is so great I decided to learn One Last Kiss from this anime too.
As with all of my performances, I have my own interpretation, so the tempo, dynamics, etc may feel quite different from the original recording. Simply put, I play the way I like it.
