Like many, I really enjoyed Tori no Uta from Air. I really didn’t want to only record that part, so I recorded the whole piece. Kanon and Clannad didn’t make too much sense to me musically. But reading comments from Animenz’s video I came to believe that those who actually watched these shows could probably relate to the music better. This piece is deceptively difficult. Of all the Animenz pieces I recorded, this is the hardest one to “sight read”. A good portion of the piece only works on muscle memory, which doesn’t happen often. I also had to take a lot of time to figure out the fingering for so many parts. This, too, doesn’t happen often. Usually most pieces would at some point “click”. Not the case here.
This piece follows an unusually linear learning curve (due to muscle memory training). All in all learning this piece proved to be a rather unique experience. It’s also note worthy that normally having lots of 10ths in a piece is just annoying. In this case, these 10ths actually increased the difficulty quite a bit.

As with all of my performances, I have my own interpretation, so the tempo, dynamics, etc may feel quite different from the original recording. Simply put, I play the way I like it.
